Note:

  • All charges are SGD and are rounded to the nearest dollar.
  • All charges exclude GST and are subjected to change without prior notice.
  • GST is absorbed for eligible subsidised Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents for subsidisable services.
  • The average bill size is estimated based on statistical average and serves only as a reference. The actual bill size may differ according to the patient's condition.
  • Average hospital bill size includes ward charges, treatment charges, therapy charges and ancillary charges such as drugs, procedures, laboratory tests, etc.
  • For subsidised wards, the average hospital bill size takes into account government subsidises.
  • The cash deposit payable will be based on the total bill amount, after deducting the claimable Medisave amount.
  • For Community Hospitals, withdrawal on Medisave is limited to $250 per day up to a maximum of $5,000 a year.

Medisave

Medisave is a national healthcare savings scheme. You and your immediate family members i.e. your spouse, children, parents or grandparents (For grandparents, they must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents) can use Medisave to pay your hospitalisation bill and Day Rehabilitation treatments incurred at Yishun Community Hospital.

MediShield Life

MediShield Life is a basic health insurance plan that helps CPF members and their dependents meet the cost of treatment for serious illness or prolonged hospitalisation. However, MediShield Life only covers Community Hospital stays if there is a prior inpatient admission from an acute hospital.

You need to inform the staff handling your admission that you wish to claim from MediShield Life. The hospital will submit the MediShield Life claim on your behalf to the CPF Board. After processing, the Board will pay directly to the hospital. The remaining amount which is not covered by MediShield Life may then be settled by patients either with Medisave or cash or both.

Private Medisave-approved Integrated Shield plans (PMI)

Apart from the MediShield scheme, there are other Medisave-approved Integrated Shield plans offered by private insurers. PMI is a scheme which allows CPF members to use their Medisave-approved Integrated Shield Plans for themselves and their dependants.

Each insured person can only have one Medisave-approved Integrated Shield Plan paid with Medisave.

Similar to MediShield Life, PMI only covers Community Hospital stays if there is a prior inpatient admission from an acute hospital.
